For those of you who don't know me, my name is Chuck Childers. I've held several positions in the Camarilla, and I'm currently AAMST Settings: Forsaken. I've been a member of the Camarilla since 1995, and I was also a member of the first iteration of Cam-Pride. Outside of the club, I have a job as an IT Manager at a Market Research firm in Portland, OR. I've lived in Portland for just over a year. While I miss living in Seattle terribly, Portland's a beautiful place to live.
Since I have some pretty significant time constraints - both workwise and for the Camarilla - I'd only be able to get the ball rolling and then hand a (hopefully) viable community over to someone else. However, I'm comfortable handling the community liaison duties until the end of the year, at least. Some community activities I'd like to pursue include:
* A LiveJournal community (done!)
* A Cam-Pride email list on official Camarilla mail servers
* Events (daytrips, parties) at regional cons & ICC
* Creation of some identifying spiffage (badges, t-shirts, sum'n)
* Recruitment of volunteers to run the community in my absence
If you have a moment, take a look at the info page for this journal. Please let me know if you'd like any changes. Also, our current LiveJournal customization & style is rather dull. If someone wants to redesign our LJ to better reflect the community, feel free.
Currently, membership in Cam-Pride is moderated, limited to Camarilla members only. Should we open it up? I'm amenable to having an open and welcoming community, but I also realize the convenience (and occasional necessity) of having a safe place to discuss concerns and issues.
